TIDAL
Project TIDAL is a Community Interest Company monitoring the environment in UK estuaries and coastal waters, starting with pilot projects in the Southend Estuary.
Using DNA-based methods, microbiology, water quality testing and ecological surveys, we generate real data for our community — so we can move beyond anecdotal evidence and show exactly what impacts are happening to our local environments.
As a Community Interest Company we exist for community benefit. Money we raise is invested directly into monitoring, public engagement and future projects.
Marine Biologist
Amélie Brackin is a marine biologist with experience in genomics, microbiology and environmental monitoring. Her research has applied genomic and microbiological approaches to environmental surveillance and infectious disease epidemiology, including the analysis of microbial populations, antimicrobial resistance and environmental reservoirs.
Data Scientist
Thomas Sewell is a data scientist specialising in the analysis of large biological datasets. His work combines machine learning, statistical modelling and population genomics to investigate patterns within complex microbial and genomic data.
