What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. They are often used to remember preferences or to track activity. This site uses as few as possible.

The cookie we use

We use a single, essential cookie called “session”. It is set by our website software (Flask) and is used only to show you one-off status messages — for example the “Thanks! Your message has been sent.” note after you use the contact form.

It does not contain readable personal information, it is not used to track you, and it usually expires when you close your browser. Because it is strictly necessary for the site to work, it does not require your consent.

Cookies we don’t use

We do not use any analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies. We do not profile you or share your browsing with advertisers.

Third-party content

Some pages load content from other services — web fonts from Google Fonts, and on our Contact page a map from OpenStreetMap and the Leaflet library (via the unpkg CDN). These may receive your IP address in order to deliver that content, but we do not use them to set tracking cookies. See our Privacy Policy for more.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Because the only cookie we set is essential and short-lived, blocking it will not stop you using the site, although status messages may not display correctly.
